Royal Creamy Pot Dish

Shahi Makhmali Handi is a luxurious North Indian curry that combines tender pieces of chicken or paneer with a rich, velvety sauce made from a blend of aromatic spices, creamy yogurt, and a hint of saffron. Cooked in a traditional handi pot.

Ingredients

  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Ginger 2 tbsp
  • Chilies 4-5
  • 1 medium Capsicum
  • Oil ½ Cup
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
  • Onion Paste 1 Cup
  • Chicken 750g
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder 1 tsp
  • Chili Flakes ½ tsp
  • Cumin Powder 1 tsp
  • Pepper ½ tsp
  • Yogurt 1 Cup
  • Cream ½ packet
  • Dried Fenugreek Leaves 1 tbsp

Step 1

In a pan, add oil. Add ginger, chilies and capsicum. Cook for a minute. Once cooked, Set aside.

Step 2

In a large pot, add oil. Let it heat. Add ginger garlic paste. Cook for a minute. Then add onion paste and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium-low flame.

Step 3

Add salt, coriander powder, chilli flakes, cumin powder, pepper and yogurt. Mix Well. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Add cream, dried Fenugreek leaves and vegetables. Serve hot
