Step 1
Combine soy sauce, hot water, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, Creole seasoning, and Cajun seasoning in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for around a minute, ensuring everything is well mixed. Next, add the beef and coat it thoroughly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, then let it marinate in the fridge for at least 8 hours, or even better, overnight. When ready, take the meat out of the marinade and rinse it with hot water.
Step 2
To prepare the oven, preheat it to a low temperature of 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Remember to place a pan on the lower rack to catch any drips.
Step 3
Arrange the strips of meat on a rack, leaving about an inch of space between each piece. Allow the meat to dehydrate in the oven for 5 to 6 hours, or until you achieve your preferred level of dryness.
