- Three tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- Four cups of mixed Mexican cheese, shredded
- A can of black beans, drained and rinsed
- Half a cup of salsa
- A bag of tortilla chips weighing twelve ounces, or as desired
Step 1
Prepare your frying pan by giving it a light mist of cooking spray. Place it over medium heat and begin cooking the steak, ensuring it's cooked through but still juicy, for about 5 to 7 minutes. Once done, remove any excess fat from the pan and sprinkle taco seasoning over the steak, allowing it to infuse for 3 to 5 minutes until it reaches your preferred consistency.

Meanwhile, in a separate saucepan, gently heat up milk until small bubbles start forming along the edges. Once this happens, take the saucepan off the heat.

In another saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add flour once the butter is fully melted and the bubbles have disappeared. Stir continuously with a whisk for approximately 5 minutes or until the mixture turns a light golden brown and becomes paste-like. Slowly pour in the warmed milk, whisking as you do so, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Continue to cook and stir until the sauce thickens and becomes velvety smooth, which should take around 10 to 15 minutes. Lower the heat, then fold in the shredded cheese until it melts and blends in perfectly.
Step 4
Combine the black beans, salsa, and the seasoned steak pieces into the cheesy sauce. Gently stir everything together and serve with crispy tortilla chips for a delicious and satisfying meal.
