Ingredients
- 1 cup of traditional Japanese soy sauce
- 1 cup of richly packed brown sugar
- ½ cup of pure pineapple juice
- ¼ cup of authentic sake
- ¼ cup of fragrant rice vinegar
- 8 cloves of garlic, finely crushed

- ½ teaspoon of spicy Korean red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon of lightly toasted sesame seeds
- 2 pounds of succulent chicken wings
Step 1
In a small saucepan, mix together a flavorful concoction of soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, sake, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, and sesame seeds. Let this aromatic blend simmer for 10 minutes before removing it from the heat to cool.
Step 2
Prepare the chicken wings by cutting them at the joint to form drumettes. Place them in a spacious resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Allow the wings to soak up the flavors in the fridge for at least 3 hours, or even better, overnight.

Get your grill ready over medium heat and grease the grate lightly. Take the marinated wings out of the bag and grill them until they achieve a beautiful brown color, approximately 5 minutes on each side.

Transfer the remaining sauce to a saucepan and let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place the grilled wings in a baking dish in a single layer and pour the sauce over them.
