- Two tablespoons of creamy butter for richness
- Freshly minced green onion for a vibrant garnish
Step 1
Begin by blending sake cooking wine, sugar, rich sesame oil, and cornstarch until well mixed and set aside for later use.
Step 2
Next, prepare the pork by slicing it into 1/2-inch pieces and seasoning them with a pinch of salt and pepper. Gently press half of the aromatic sesame seeds onto one side of each pork slice.
Step 3
In a large 12-inch saute pan, melt butter over medium-high heat and place the pork slices seed-side down. Allow them to cook until they acquire a delightful golden-brown color, which usually takes around 8 minutes. While cooking, press the remaining sesame seeds onto the tops of the medallions. Once ready, flip the pork over and continue cooking for an additional 4-6 minutes.
Step 4
As the pork cooks, increase the heat to high and introduce the prepared sauce into the pan. Let it cook for about 2 minutes or until the sauce starts bubbling and thickening slightly.
Step 5
To serve, generously drizzle the succulent pork medallions with the flavorful sake sauce. Finish off by sprinkling any leftover sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions over the dish for an added burst of freshness and color.
