Ingredients
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and cut into small pieces
- A duo of tablespoons of butter
- Equal parts of brown sugar and a sprinkling of ground cinnamon
- A pinch of salt, just a dash
- A quartet of eggs
- A half cup of half-and-half for creaminess
- Four tablespoons of softened cream cheese
- Three cinnamon bagels past their prime, in cubes
- A quarter cup of chopped pecans for a touch of crunch, additional if desired
Step 1
Prepare an 8-inch square baking dish by greasing it lightly.
Step 2
In a skillet over medium heat, combine apples, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Cook until the sugar starts to bubble, approximately 5 minutes. Take off the heat and set it aside.
Step 3
In a blender, combine eggs, half-and-half, cream cheese, and the remaining cinnamon. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Step 4
Spread cubed bagels, cooked apples, and pecans on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour the blended egg mixture over the top, ensuring that all the bagel cubes are soaked. Refrigerate the dish for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Step 5
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 6
Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until all the liquid has evaporated. Serve the delicious treat hot and enjoy!
