Ingredients
- 3 quarts of water
- 2 ½ cups of diced sweet potato
- ¾ cup of rich brown sugar
- ⅓ cup of Tennessee whiskey
- ¼ cup of softened butter
- 2 ¼ teaspoons of aromatic ground cinnamon
- 2 ¼ teaspoons of spicy ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ¼ cup of butter
- ¾ cup of sweet brown sugar
- 1 ½ cups of finely chopped pecans
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) to get it nice and warm. Start by bringing some water to a boil in a big pot. Cook your sweet potatoes in the boiling water until they're tender, which usually takes about 7 minutes. Once they're ready, drain them and transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Use a potato masher to mash them up until they're nice and smooth.

Now it's time to add some delicious flavors! Mix in 3/4 cup of brown sugar, a splash of Tennessee whiskey, 1/4 cup of softened butter, along with some cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir everything together until it's well combined. Spread this flavorful mixture into a 1-quart casserole dish.
