Ingredients
- 2 cans of flavorful Western-style pinto beans
- A generous amount of water, measuring 16 ounces
- Several slices of savory bacon, tailored to personal preference

- Light beer, with the option to use as needed, divided into 2 cans of 12 fluid ounces each
Step 1
In a large saucepan or soup pot, start by placing pinto beans at the bottom. Add water, along with bacon, jalapenos, fresh cilantro, and garlic. Allow the mixture to gently simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
Step 2
Once the beans are warmed through, introduce a can of light beer to the pot.
Step 3
Continue to simmer the beans, giving them a stir every now and then. This process will take around 3 to 6 hours until the bacon is fully cooked down, and the beans start to soften.
Step 4
Top up with more beer as necessary, especially when the liquid reduces and the beans aren't entirely submerged, typically every 2 hours.
Step 5
When ready to serve, cover the pot to keep the beans warm until they are served.
