- A can of diced green chiles (7 ounces)
- A tablespoon of reduced-sodium soy sauce
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (to taste, about a teaspoon)
Step 1
Begin by heating oil in a large pot on medium-high heat. Once hot, introduce the ground turkey and chorizo, sautéing until they crumble and turn a golden brown for approximately 5 minutes. Next, incorporate the onion, celery, and jalapeno, stirring until the meat browns further and the onion turns translucent, usually around 5 minutes more.
Step 2
To enhance the flavors, sprinkle in cumin, coriander, oregano, thyme, and garlic. Follow this with a medley of tomatoes, cannellini beans, tomatillos, and green chiles. A dash of soy sauce will complement the mixture perfectly. Lower the heat and allow the ingredients to meld together, allowing the flavors to meld for about 20 to 30 minutes. Just before serving, garnish with freshly chopped cilantro for an added burst of freshness.
